Thank God the groundhog didn’t see his shadow today, now he can come out of his hole and winter can be over. I am definitely done with this season, between the snow and ice you can barely walk around outside let alone run. The parking lot at Planet Fitness was like an ice skating rink, I’m lucky I didn’t break my neck trying to walk from the car to the gym. This is what I accomplished on the treadmill today:
I guess my preworkout meal was a good one, I felt energized throughout my run. To combat treadmill boredom today I caught up on the blogs I follow by reading them on my iPad via Blogshelf. I also did some interval training, I ran at 6 mph alternating between 6.5-7 mph with every song, and an 8 mph sprint for the last tenth of a mile. This kept me motivated enough to run 5 miles without checking the time repeatedly to see when my workout would be finished. Despite the weather and not being able to go to the gym as planned first thing in the morning, I still followed through with my planned workout today!! Hopefully the Groundhog is right and winter will soon be over so I can start training outdoors again, until then I will continue my treadmill training at Planet Fitness.
