What do you eat to fuel your body preworkout? If I run early in the morning I don’t usually eat anything, I know once I start running the long runs in my training plan this will have to change, but I seem to always feel weighed down if I eat prior to an early morning run. This morning due to icy conditions on the roads I did not get to the gym at six am as planned. My new plan is to go at ten after I drop my daughter off at school, leaving me plenty of time for a preworkout meal.
My preworkout meal included coffee with fat free half and half, Dannon vanilla Greek yogurt, 1/2 banana, a sprinkling of chia seeds and a bran pumpkin pecan muffin I baked yesterday. I think it’s light enough that it won’t upset my stomach but has enough calories to fuel my run. My run later this morning will be the judge of this preworkout meal.
I am off to clear the ice off my car, be safe if you were impacted by this huge winter storm.
