I usually wake up at 5:30 to get out of my house and to the gym and back before my husband leaves for work. I don’t set an alarm clock because I have an internal alarm clock that usually wakes me up at the right time, today it failed. My other alarm clock, my 2 year old Abby, woke me up at 6am. Despite the late start I made it to the gym and back way before my husband had to leave for work and I also managed to run a record setting 5 miles!
- Mile 1: 9:58
- Mile 2: 8:34
- Mile 3: 8:34
- Mile 4: 8:34
- Mile 5: 9:09
Me post run with my favorite workout towel that I won from Exercise TV!!
This is the best 5 miles I have ever run!!! I did not pre-fuel prior to this run and I felt good. I did have a protein shot immediately after the run and when I got home I had this:
- 1/2 sweet potato (hidden underneath)
- Chobani nonfat vanilla Greek yogurt
- 1 tsp. chia seeds
- 1 tsp. wheat germ
This breakfast really hit the spot, even my 2 year old liked it, although I really didn’t want to share it. I did originally crave eggs as I usually do, but I think I made the right decision with this breakfast. It is also a colorful breakfast consistent with the theme of National Nutrition Month.
Don’t forget today is the last day to enter my giveaway, the winner will be announced tomorrow. Good luck to all that entered!!
