Just when I thought I couldn’t possibly run any faster, that is exactly what I did today.
A new PR!!! My stress level was through the roof this morning and I had planned on waiting until the sun came out to run but at about 11am I just couldn’t take it anymore, so I ran. My stress worked as a great motivator to run fast, I ran undistracted without headphones and I ran faster than I thought possible. With each step of the run my stress dissipated a little more until it was gone, that is why I love to run!
Wow, I have only run a sub-8 minute mile once and that was last year during boot camp where we were running as fast as we could for just 1 mile, I finished in 7:16. Today was the first time I have ever run a sub-8 minute mile during training, there is always a first for everything but I am hoping to be able to repeat this again and again. My confidence with speed is increasing, hopefully I can keep it up for my upcoming race.
