Keeping foods fresh is always a big issue in my house, closing bags properly just doesn’t happen all the time and cereal, chips, pretzels, etc. go to waste. I also had an issue with moths about 2 years ago, they basically invaded my pantry, anything that was sealed properly had to be thrown out, again more waste. When products go to waste money is basically being flushed down the toilet, plus I always feel guilty about throwing out food that would have lasted if sealed properly.
When I was offered the chance to review The Gripstic I immediately accepted, a chance to review a product that would help keep my items fresh, I was all for it. The Gripstic can be used to seal most bags including chip bags, cereal bags, coffee, frozen foods, flour and whatever else you can think of, you can also use it for non-food products if you like. The Gripstic is not bulky and it easily fits into a drawer, unlike those chip clips you see above that I always seem to have a problem finding a place to put them when they are not in use.
Frozen vegetables are my biggest pet peeve when it comes to sealing properly, I cannot tell you how many time I have opened my freezer and a bag of veggies falls out, spilling all over the floor. The first item I used The Gripstic for was a bag of frozen peas I had actually had opened the night before and needed to be sealed.
The Gripstic is easy to use and created a super tight seal.
While baking yesterday I used whole wheat pastry flour that had been sealed with the mini chip clip, not very well I may add, if the flour fell I am pretty sure the clip would have popped off and flour would have been all over my kitchen. So resealed the flour with The Gripstic after I finished using it, again it provided a perfect seal.
Abby is potty training so every time she goes on the potty she gets a sticker and a
bribe reward, yesterday’s reward was potato chips. When not sealed properly potato chips go stale but not if you are using the Gripstic, the seal was perfect, just make sure you squeeze all the air out of the bag first.
Thanks to The Gripstic I have a feeling my bagged foods will be staying fresh a lot longer then they used to with a chip clip. The Gripstic also seems much sturdier, I have broken many chip clips from dropping them on the floor, The Gripstic doesn’t seem as easily breakable.
