“Harry Potter and The Philosopher’s Stone” AKA “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” was first published on June 30, 1997, this date marks the beginning of a series of books that would become popular all over the world to children and adults alike. I am sure J.K. Rowling never imagined what Harry Potter would become when she first imagined up his wizarding world. Tonight the second half of the last movie will premiere at midnight at movie theaters all over the country, my daughter Angelica will take part in this piece of history, sadly I will not….too late for me but I do plan on seeing the movie by Monday the latest.
Angelica has been reading Harry Potter since she was about 8, instantly falling in love with Harry and his wizarding world. She has read each and every book at least 5 times interpreting all the mysteries encased in each and every chapter. I myself jumped on the Harry Potter bandwagon after I saw the first movie which was around the time the 4th book came out I was a little late to the game but I quickly caught up by reading the 1st four books over a few weeks. Each book in the series proved to be nothing less than spectacular and I too fell in love with Harry Potter and his world, how could you not?
When the last book was published I savored it, trying to read slowly which for me meant finishing the book in 4 days. When the first part of the last movie premiered this past November I felt sad that it was all coming to an end, but excited for the last part of the film coming in July. July is now here and tonight we will see that last of the Harry Potter films. Sad and exciting all at the same time.
Angelica will go with my brother tonight dressed in her Gryffindor attire to see the last movie. Although the Harry Potter Era may be over tonight, unless J.K. Rowling becomes inspired to write more of the wizard the world has come to love, he will live on forever as a piece of literary and cinematic history.
So tonight, 14 years after the publication of the first book, the last Harry Potter movie will premiere and an era will come to an end or will it?
Are you going to see the last Harry Potter movie tonight?
