We celebrate Independence Day to commemorate the day the Declaration of Independence was signed, July 4th, 1776. This was the day the United States declared independence from Great Britain, thanks to our Founding Fathers. We celebrate the birthday of the United States with fireworks, parades, parties and BBQ’s. This is a day to remember that we live in one of the greatest countries in the world, freedom is something we should hold dear and not take for granted.
As we celebrate this day keep in mind all the people past and present that have made it possible for us to live our lives in this great country. I’d also like you to take a moment to thank all the people in the military that put their lives on the line every day to keep us safe and free, you are all in my thoughts and prayers. Thank you for a job well done.
I will be celebrating Independence Day at a family BBQ after work and then by watching all the beautiful fireworks tonight. I used to run a 4th of July race every year on the boardwalk in Long Beach, but since I have been working holidays I have not been able to do that for a few years, I definitely miss it! I am looking forward to running it again next year when I hopefully will not be working holidays anymore.
I hope everyone has a great 4th of July!!! Stay safe!!!
How do you celebrate the 4th of July? Did anyone run any races today?
