Melissa is currently training for a 1/2 marathon and has some tips to share about what she has learned along the way. I just wrapped up week #9 of my 1/2 marathon training program and things are continuing to go well. My most recent long run was 8 miles. 8 miles is the longest run I’ve ever completed. Needless to say, I’m pretty proud of myself for running 8 miles! Did I mention it was a whole 8 miles? OK, I’ll stop.
I’ve been thinking about some of the things that I do or use that have helped me on my 13.1 journey.
Here’s my short list:
The last thing that I’ve been trying to do is a brief meditation after my stretching and before my run. I like to take a moment to calm my mind which is usually swirling with thoughts that will hinder my ability to focus on my run. It’s amazing how those few minutes center me and free me up to enjoy my run.
