I started my training for my to upcoming 1/2 marathons last week and as with any training plan it is always a work in progress, as you can see by the many changes I made throughout the week:
I was able to complete most of the schedules runs except for Saturdays because my ankles were way too sore form my new minimalist shoes. I decided to forego that workout to avoid injury and by doing that I was ready to tackle today’s Interval Workout:
- Warm-up: 6 mph (10 min mile) for 10 minutes
- Intervals: 7.5 mph (8 min mile) for 0.25 mile alt with 6.5mph (9:14 min mile) for 0.25 mile, repeated x 4
- Cooldown: 6 mph for 5 minutes
- Total: 3.5 miles in 32:22
I was going to do a 10 minute cooldown but my ankles started to feel sore so I cut it short. A great run to start a great week.
Sunday we had BBQ for my sister-in-law Allison and her kids who will be returning to California on Tuesday, we will miss them terribly!!
Today we took the kids to Adventureland!! They all had a blast, Abby even went on a few rides by herself!!
Tomorrow we leave for Atlantic City and Long Beach Island for a mini-vacation!! While I am away I have a few guest posts set up so I hope you enjoy them!! I will be back late Friday!! I hope everyone has a great week!
