I have successfully completed week 1 of Exercise TV’s 10 Pound Slimdown Xtreme 28 day challenge on the Social Workout website with only one missed workout!!! My whole body is sore, these workouts are Xtreme in a good way. I love a challenge and these workouts are challenging to say the least.
- Monday: Xtreme Total Body (40 min), Bonus Buns (10 min)
- Tuesday: Xtreme Cardio Kickboxing (40 min)
- Wednesday: Xtreme Lower Body (40 min), Bonus Abs (10 min)
- Thursday: Xtreme Yoga/Stretch (40 min)
- Friday: Rest
- Saturday: 2 mile run, 4 mile bike ride
- Sunday: 3 mile walk, Xtreme Upper Body (40 min), Recovery Lower Body (20 min)
I didn’t follow the plan exactly as listed on the site but I did every workout except for one Xtreme Cardio Kickboxing. As far as my training goes for my upcoming 1/2 marathon, this week was pretty much a “rest” week due to an aching knee. Saturday I had planned to run 3-4 miles but my knee hurt a little at the beginning of the run so I cut it to 2 miles to be safe. So far today my knee is fine so I plan to take today and tomorrow off and then resume running on Tuesday. At this point I hope to get in just enough mileage to complete the Diva’s 1/2 on October 2nd, as far as PR goes….there’s always another race.
I am done working out today so now it is just time to relax and watch some football. Chris and I are enjoying some Blue Moon Pumpkin Ale with cinnamon/sugar rimmed glasses……so good!! I love pumpkin beer!!! Dogfish Head Punkin Ale is my favorite thus far.
