“Stillpower: The clarity of mind to live with freedom and ease; the inner source of athletic excellence.–Garret Kramer”
In Stillpower Garret Kramer gives a unique perspective on what makes athletes and non-athletes perform and succeed out on field and in the game of life. Everyday people are searching for ways to improve their performance in sports, work and life in general. Some people succeed, some people don’t and in Stillpower Garret Kramer provides insight into what makes a person successful. People in general look for external sources to help become successful whereas Garret Kramer tells us in Stillpower that we only need to look inside ourselves to be successful.
Don’t let the front cover mislead you whether you are an athlete or not this book is for you and anyone looking to gain insight on how to look inside yourself to become successful at whatever you do. He starts off the book by telling you not to try to interpret every word he says in the book right away but to read the entire book and let the concepts sink in before trying to utilize them. I agree with this because you need to read the whole book and let everything he has written sink in before you can truly understand what he is telling you.
The main concept of this book is that if you are functioning from a high level of well being and a calm mindset you will be able to access the answers that you are searching for from with in your own mind which will propel you to success. When you are functioning at a low state of mind you are likely to perform poorly, make bad decisions and make whatever problem you are facing worse. By realizing that your life is not determined by circumstances like winning a game or what a coach tells you but about your relationship with your own thoughts you will be able to face any challenge that confronts you and move forward to become successful at sports, coaching, or life in general.
I like the fact that Garret uses real life stories to back up his unique perspective. These stories are inspirational, relatable and informative backing up Garret Kramer’s notion of Stillpower. Whether you are looking for a way to improve sport’s performance or just performance in life you should definitely pick up a copy of this book. Garret Kramer has been applying his revolutionary concept in the sports world for years allowing players to achieve success on and off the playing field and now you can learn what it is all about in his fantastic book Stillpower.
