Last week I wrote about my lack of motivation, this week I am posting about the ways I plan to keep myself motivated. Last week was rough I really did not work out much, partially related to my lack of motivation but also because I had few migraines which basically put me out of commission for a few days. Lack of motivation can be overcome but migraines not so much. This week I am ready to push myself and get back on track. The new year is only 8 weeks away and if I want to meet my goals I better get moving…..literally.
Usually I use races as motivation but with the weather getting colder I only have short races on my schedule until April when I am planning on running the More/Fitness 1/2 Marathon with my friend Crystal. Without race motivation in the near future I have found a few challenges in the blogosphere that I plan to participate in to keep me going.
- Pile on The Miles Challenge: This challenge is being run by Monica from Run, Eat, Repeat and it’s goal is the encourage us to pile on the miles instead of the pounds this November. This contest runs from November 1st until November 25th (Thanksgiving)and you have to run/walk at least 5 miles a seeking to be eligible for the prizes.
- Holiday Bootie Buster Challenge 2011: This challenge is being run by Amanda from Run to the Finish and it encourages to stay on track through the holiday season. This challenge runs from November 16th until January 2nd, basically through all the major holidays. You earn points through working out, eating healthy and participating in answering questions on Facebook. There are many prizes up for grabs so you have nothing to lose, except a few pounds.
