I love having three day weekends, I wish every weekend was three days but unfortunately this is not the case. A three day weekend makes for a very short week. It’s really Wednesday?? Already? This week is exactly 12 weeks from the New Year which I plan to enter with better eating habits and a fitter body despite the holidays…..at least that is my goal.
This week I began ExerciseTV’s Yoga Bootcamp 28 day plan. I was originally going to restart the 10 Pound Slimdown Xtreme Challenge but due to my aching shin I didn’t want to start any exercises that require plyometric movements especially since I have to run the Rock ‘N’ Roll 10K next Saturday. I figured running is more than enough impact for my shin to handle right now. I plan trying out a 2 miler later this afternoon and if my shin feels good then I will slowly increase my mileage until the 10K. I am keeping my fingers crossed that all goes well otherwise I may be walking the 10K instead of running it
My biggest challenge over the next 12 weeks will be reigning in my eating habits. I have a problem with portion sizes and impulse control when it comes to eating…..I basically just eat whatever I want without thinking about nutritional content or portion sizes. I happen to have a ravenous appetite that sometimes seems insatiable, especially when I am running 3-4 days a week. This type of uncontrolled eating has led to a 10 lb weight gain on the scale which I am less than thrilled about. To rectify this weight gain I plan to take the next 12 weeks to reduce my portion sizes and eat healthy for most meals avoiding fast food and junk.
My goals for the next 12 weeks:
- Lose 10 lbs and maintain that loss through the holiday season.
- Follow Yoga Bootcamp for 28 days, followed by the 10 Pound Slimdown Xtreme for 28 days and then mixing it up with Supreme 90 Day workouts.
- Run 3-4 times per week.
- Eat healthy during the week-3 meals, 2 snacks. 1 “cheat” meal at a restaurant weekly. Plus less lenient Sunday afternoon’s for football.
- Limit alcohol to my 1 restaurant meal and football Sundays.

Here’s to self-control….I am trying to gain some!!!!
I am glad I am not alone in my ravenous appetite!
I love your eating goals and think I need to join you! My goals would be to keep the diet coke out (no fake sugars), eat healthier with more fresh fruits and veggies, and limit alcohol. I like your plan for it at eating out and football.
I always feel like I can never get enough!! I like your goals!! I hate fake sugars so I agree on that one and I am definitely going to add more fruits and veggies!!!
