I love yoga and I love to strength train but sometimes combined with a running routine there just aren’t enough hours in the day to do it all. Something has to give and it is usually the yoga, I know that stretching is a great complement to both strength training and running plus it helps prevent injuries but it is usually the aspect of fitness I skip out on regularly so when I received Exercise TV’s Yoga Bootcamp to try out I was really excited.
Yoga Bootcamp consists of 2 DVD’s:
- Disc 1: Core Strength (40 minutes) and Twisting Detox (40 minutes) with instructor Ashley Turner
- Disc 2: Power Yoga for Arms and Abs (40 minutes) and Dynamic Flow for Legs and Butt (40 minutes) with instructor Ted McDonald
These workouts combine strength, cardio and yoga for a complete total body workout. I love them. This is the solution to the strength vs stretch (yoga) dilemma I am always faced with when trying to fit it all in…now I don’t have to choose, I can get my strength and stretch (yoga) at the same time with Yoga Bootcamp. These workouts are the perfect complement to any running program or just on their own if you are not a runner.
Yoga Bootcamp becomes available on Exercise TV today!!! You can purchase the 2 DVD set for $19.99, watch it on Exercise TV on Demand or if you are a Lifestyle subscriber you can stream the workouts at no additional cost. Yoga Bootcamp also includes a 28-day workout plan and guidelines for healthy eating.
I will be incorporating Yoga Bootcamp into my workout regimen. I am currently doing Exercise TV’s 10 Pound Slimdown Xtreme 28 Day challenge but when I am finished I plan to follow Yoga Bootcamp’s 28 day workout plan. I had started the 10 Pound Slimdown Xtreme challenge 3 weeks ago, taking last week off to prepare for the Diva’s Half Marathon which I ran on Sunday!! After a week off I have decided to restart the challenge from the beginning so I can reap the full rewards of performing the challenge from start to finish. My current weight is 132 lbs and I plan to be 10 lbs slimmer in 28 days!!!
Stay tuned for my weekly progress reports!!!
