Do you want the good news or the bad new first??
Hmmm…maybe I should just start with my 5 mile run from yesterday!!! Yesterday after work I set out for a 3 mile run and ended up doing 5.5 miles!! I love those days when you lace up, head out and just feel like you could keep going forever…..well okay 5.5 miles is not forever but I still felt great!!
I pretty much felt great the whole run even though it was windy!! The wind was blowing pretty hard so my faster miles were the ones where the wind was at my back and the slower ones I was running against the wind, my last 1/2 mile was the windiest and hardest of all! Despite the wind and the cold I love running outside and my goal this winter is to run outside as much as possible!!!
Now I will share my bad news, this is my status after I registered for the NYC Marathon which I thought I had guaranteed entry into:
I registered Tuesday night and after seeing this I promptly emailed them and impatiently awaited an answer. After about 16 hours I could not wait any longer so I call NYRR Marathon Hotline, yes they have a hotline just for the marathon, and they told me they couldn’t find my application for 2009. What this all means is that unless I can prove that I actually entered in 2009 I do not have guaranteed entry until 2013 🙁 I have been searching for 2 days through my credit cards and cannot find the charge for 2009, so either I used a card I do not have anymore or I am mistaken about entering in 2009. I am 99% positive I entered because I had entered in 2008 and then dropped out because I was pregnant so I know I tried the next year and I have also been looking forward to 2012 because I knew I would be in no matter what……..I guess not!!!
I still have options and here they are:
- I can get in through the lottery….it’s a long shot but maybe this year will be my year.
- I can sign up with a charity.
- I can run another marathon, the Philly perhaps.
Tough Chik is performance clothing designed by women of women. “Tough Chik is not just a clothing line, it is an outlook on life”, as quoted from their website. Team Tough Chik consists of over 94 members from 5 countries and 33 states, that is a whole lot of support!!! I am super excited to be a part of this team that was made for all of us to support and encourage each other through our running tribulations. I get my “official” Tough Chik uniform in March and can’t wait to take it out for a run!!!!
I hope everyone has a great weekend!!! Monday starts Half-Marathon Training for me so I have a ton of planning and preparing to do this weekend, plus I need to take down all my Christmas decorations 🙁
Is anyone racing this weekend?
