Happy National Runnning Day!!!!
I have said it before and I will say it again and again and again, I love running. I cannot think of a better way to alleviate the stressors of life, stay fit and compete!! Running is my cure all! When I feel sad-I run, when I feel happy-I run, when I feel angry-I run, when I want to work out a problem-I run, when I feel stressed-I run and when I want to compete with myself- I race.
I discovered running at 19 and fell in love. We have had our ups and downs but deep down inside running has been and always will be my first true fitness love. While I have my flings with other forms of fitness I will always choose running above all others!!
When I run I am free and it is the only time I can actually free my mind from everything which I love!!!! I run for me!!! When I am running I am a better person, mother, wife, friend and nurse because it helps me feel free!!!!
I hope to continue to run for the rest of my life whether it be fast or slow!! Running is a part of me that I am just not willing to give up.
I plan to celebrate National Running Day with a 4 mile run after work!!!!!
Why do your run?

Happy National Running Day! I run because I wouldn’t be the person I am today without it =)

I feel the same way about running but I never loathed it.
Oh i hated it..because it was forced on us as kids
was good at it as a teen in cross country but hated it!
pretty much hated anything that was ‘demanded/forced’

That’s true!! I was just reading that somewhere how people hate running because it was forced on them in school.
Enjoy your run! I celebrated with a short 2-mile morning run. Supposed to be a non-running day but I just couldn’t resist.

Thanks!!
I run because Molly Ritterbeck talked me into joining a running club with her, and even though she lives on the other side of the continent now, she still makes me run.
I have a love/hate relationship with running. I don’t hate it as much as I used to, but I still have to make myself run and make myself continue running once I start. But, I feel so good after I run, and I love that feeling. It has now turned into a challenge since I was never a runner, and started voluntarily running when I was 41 after having not run at all since I was 25 (which was the first time I had run since high school). Oh, yeah, and it’s helping me to lose weight.

Well said, Toni! I run for many of the same reasons- it has definitely made me a better person, and now a better (and more patient!) mom!
