Playlist Thursday: WOMEN EMPOWERMENT

 

As you can see from my title I am passionate about this post!!!!   Pavement Runner does a Playlist Thursday every week and this week the topic is Women Empowerment which I felt I needed to add in my two sense!!!

Here’s how it works I’m going to pick 3 songs that are:

Something Old: These will be songs that are at least 5 years old. I know that isn’t too long to be considered old, but music turnover happens quickly.

Something Current: These will be songs that have been released within the past year. I know, but you have to give me some leeway here.

Something to Consider: These will be songs that are not typically heard on the radio and may be by artists you’ve never heard of or considered running to. This is the wild card category, can be old or current.

 

Something Old

Artist: Gloria Gaynor

Title: I Will Survive

Side Note: This is the classic song that empowers women!!!  I have always loved this song for as long as I can remember and it always inspires me!

Something New

Artist: Kelly Clarkson

Title: Mr. Know It All

Side Note:  Love this song!!!  I feel empowered every time I hear this song!!!  Women should be independent of everyone else in their lives and I just feel that this song hits that point!

Quoteable: “Baby you should know that I lead not follow..”

Something To Consider

Artist: Sarah Bareilles

Title: King of Anything

Side Note:  I love this song just because I feel it is all about a women taking control of their life and doing what they want without worrying about what everyone else thinks!!!  my husband doesn’t like that i like this song because he thinks I think about him when I am listening to it but I don’t, I actually think about the people that said I would be unsuccessful in my life and my husband has been nothing but supportive!!!
