My morning started with a 5 am wake up call to get ready and get to the LIRR in time for a 6:13 am train that would get me to the city by 7 am where I would catching Amtrak to Baltimore at 8:10. I woke my husband at 5:50 and he dropped me off at Dunkin Donuts for a large coffee prior to catching my train.

Chris said I left way too early as usual but I’d rather be early than late even if it means waiting at PENN station for an hour. I walked around, grabbed a magazine and breakfast from Chickpea (egg white wrap). At 8 am we boarded the Amtrak train for Baltimore.
I found a seat and settled in for my 2 hour and 45 minute ride to Baltimore!! What I loved about Amtrak is that I didn’t have to be stressed about driving alone and I could connect to their Wi-Fi ( although it was not great) and blog. I was able to get some future posts written and clean up my AOL email that had like 600 emails in it!!!!
I arrived in Baltimore around 10:40:
I decided to take a cab to the hotel instead of walking because unfortunately my shin is killing me from all the poking and prodding by the doctor on Tuesday. The cab ride was less than 10 minutes and I arrived at the Hyatt Regency in plenty of time for the McCormick tour.
This is my fist trip away by myself ever!!! I actually feel like a real grown up now even though I still miss the family.
I will be recapping the entire weekend in my next few posts including my trip to McCormick, all the great bloggers I met and all the awesome sessions I attended. I promise the next few recaps will be more interesting than this one but I was excited about my my first trip sans family that I just had to post about it!!!
Stay Tuned……….
