What I Learned From FitBloggin ’12

by Toni Church on September 24, 2012

I will be recapping FitBloggin most of this week but I wanted to start with what I learned about myself from FitBloggin ’12.  What I learned about myself during this awesome weekend is the most invaluable information that I took home with me.  I discovered a confidence in myself that I never knew I had and with this confidence I was able to do things I never thought I could do like speak in front of a group of people.  In the coming weeks I think you will see my new found confidence in both my blogs and vlogs.

I met new friends and reconnected with some old ones which made this weekend even more amazing.  Tamara from FitKnitChick was the best roommate I could ask for and our hotel stay was mostly great except for the obnoxious people in the next room who were super loud both Friday and Saturday night until they finally got kicked out of the hotel.  The Hyatt Regency was nice enough to give us a partial credit on our room to help make up for the disturbance.

It was an amazing experience to take a trip by myself and I definitely would love to do this type of trip at least once a year.  Amtrak was an awesome way to travel to Baltimore but when I packed I forgot to leave room for all the swag I would get which left me worried about how I would get all of it home on the train. Luckily for me Jill Hanner was driving right past my town and offered to give me a ride home!!!

The weekend ended even better than it began and I am so grateful for having met so many awesome people!!!!  Next year FitBloggin will be in Portland, Oregon and I am hoping I will be able to attend!!!!

Check out my vlog about what I learned at FitBloggin ’12:

Have you attended a blogging conference?  What did you learn?

I did like 8-10 miles a day, 6 days a week for about 4 months. Yeah, bad idea.

I loved running it so much it didn’t seem like a lot to me, but my lower back upper hips says it was. I’ve been doing more stair sprints, and one eight miler with a couple four milers a weeks. Oh well, I’ll be back at it as soon as I am 100%, but this time I’ll only do 4 miles a day with maybe one long distance a week.

I hope you get back to 100% soon, I love running so I understand.

It was great to meet you at Gia’s Toni! Great vlog. Seeing people do such great candid vlogs makes me want to try to do more. I feel like I have nothing to say, but I guess that’s not really true. You are adorable. Good luck with your injury. I am going to be missing out on several half marathons that I was already registered for this season due to a hip defect that started giving me pain after three halfs last year. Injuries suck!!!
