I have been off from basically all activity for 2 weeks with the exception of Pilates and I am pretty much going out of my mind. Yesterday I was finally able to get my cardio on via my spin bike, although it is not running, it definitely felt great!! I am ready to get back into peak shape so that when I do start running again I will not get injured!
Last night I headed over to the track to meet up with my We Are Athletes teammates for what would normally be a workout, but this time it was just a visit and I chance to talk to my coach. Basically he encouraged me to water run, strengthen my lower body, strengthen my core and stretch, so that I can be ready to run in 6 weeks.
In 6 weeks I will start running again, the only difference will be that I am going to start like a beginner with a very slow build up of mileage. I will have just about a whole year to build up my mileage and endurance for the 2013 NYC Marathon.
I am ready to run pain free. I am ready to stay uninjured. I am ready to run my best. I am ready for 2013 to be my running year.
Can you tell that I have running on my mind!??!

Everything happens for a reason, even this injury, but from the difficult times we learn and that is what is keeping me going!
