Not being able to run was hard, but knowing I would be able to run again kept me going. Injuries happen. Injuries sometimes cannot be avoided, we must stay positive and as Confucius said, “Our Greatest Glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall.”
This week I rose to the occasion!!!! On Thursday I received the okay from my orthopedist to run again and that is eaxactly what I did…run!!!! I had talked to my running coach prior to my returning to running and we discussed that at least for the first week I would only run 1/2 mile a day. Do you know how hard it is to run 1/2 mile a day???
If you are not a runner you will never understand, but to run just 1/2 mile left me longing for more, but I stopped because I do NOT want to get injured again. I ran Thursday, Friday and Saturday….here are those runs:
These may have been short runs, but they were awesome!!! Just to be able to run again is a gift. Just like the saying says, “We don’t know what we have until we lost it.” This goes for everything in life, including running. Be thankful today for what you have and appreciate every moment, because you never know what the future will bring.
I hope you all have had a great weekend!!!! Stay tuned for a DVD giveaway later this week!!
What motivates you this Monday??
