I have been less than motivated the past few weeks. My lack of motivation started with the power loss from Hurricane Sandy, continued with the onslaught of migraines and was worsened by my failure to be able to run pain free. I wanted to pick myself up, but with low energy levels and just plain feeling down, November pretty much was a bust 🙁
I am determined to get back on track this month with a few new challenges, that include strengthening my lower body, so that when I start running again it will be pain free.
I started the month with Amanda’s DietBet challenge!!! Weighing in at an awful 139.8 pounds made me more depressed, but it also brought awareness to the fact that I need to get motivated and quickly. I have until January 1st to lose 5.6 pounds or else I lose the bet and the money I put into the pot………yes, money is motivation!
In addition to starting the DietBet challenge, I started the Supreme 90 Day program. I did this program for a month last June and I absolutely loved it!! I even had the opportunity to interview the creator’s of the program, you can check out the post here. What I love about this program is that the workouts are only about 30-40 minutes and I can do them right in my bedroom, which equals no excuses!!!
I am 3 days into the program, haven’t even done a leg workout, and my entire body is already sore. Obviously I haven’t been doing enough weight training. Even after only a few days, my energy levels have already increased and so has my mood…..the power of physical activity!!!!! I plan to follow the program for the entire 90 days and I expect you to hold me accountable!!! I will be posting my workouts, including calorie burn (courtesy of my Polar HRM I won on a Twitter chat, review to come soon) on instagram, so be sure to follow me at Runninglovingliving.
The Commitment Day 5K is less than a month away and while I still plan to do the 5K, I am not sure I will be running it. I plan to rest my leg another few days before attempting to run again, even though it is better, but I am unsure that I will be ready to run or not on 1/1/13. Only time will tell, but if I don’t run, I still plan to walk!!!!!!!
I am slowly, but surely getting back on track. My goal over the next few weeks is to start waking up earlier again so that I can get my workout in before work, leaving me with more time for school and blogging after work. I am shooting to regain this habit by January 1st, so that I can start the New Year off on the right foot!!!
I hope everyone is having a great week!!! I know mine is getting better!!!
How do you motivate yourself when you fall off track???
