*FYI* This post contains information about female hormones and my personal sturggle. This may be TMI for some people, so I am warning you up front.
Hey all!! I know I haven’t blogged much over the last couple of weeks, but I have a good reason, my hormones have been killing me.
Two years ago I had a copper IUD placed which I had removed after about 4 months because I was bleeding so badly from it. I replaced it with a Mirena IUD, which gives off a low dose of hormones to prevent pregnancy. My GYN said I would not have any problems hormonally and my periods would mostly likely stop or be very short, which they did up until about six weeks ago.
For the past six weeks I have been bleeding or spotting pretty much non-stop. With the surge of hormones I have also had breast tenderness, fatigue, mood swings and migraines. I could deal with all of the symptoms except for the migraines. Last week it got so bad that I made a emergency appointment with my GYN. Thankfully, my exams were normal, which means the likely culprit is the IUD.
For the next week I will be taking hormones to produce an actual menstrual cycle in order to “reboot” my uterus. If this is successful then the IUD stays, if not it will be removed. I am hoping for the latter because I don’t want to have to start over with another option to prevent pregnancy. Only time will tell, but I am feeling much better.
The lack of blogging stems from the migraines. It was hard enough to get through my actual work day, so when I came home I pretty much stayed unplugged.
I took this weekend to rest, recover and reorganize!!! I made a ton of progress and even managed to clear out my desk to create a work/school/blogging area!!!
When I had Abigail, my office was turned into a nursery and without another room or space in the house for an office we purchased this “hidden” desk. Before this weekend this desk housed the printer and a bunch of unfiled, unorganized paperwork. In an effort to become more organized with school and blogging I reorganized the desk and created my new work/school/blog station.
I now have everything need to be more productive in both school and blogging, including a shiny new Toshiba computer, although Windows 8 makes me love my MAC even more. My primary computer is my MAC, unfortunately I really needed Microsoft Office for school, plus I love Windows Live Writer for blogging, thus the new computer purchase. This computer is going to be solely designated to school, work and blogging. This space makes me want to work!!!!!
I am excited to embark on a new week with my new work/school/blog station!!!
Do you have a designated area for work??
