I think most of you know I injured my right hip/thigh in October. I visited urgent care the very next day and was given hope that it would heal in a few weeks with rest. Unfortunately, it did not and now three months later I am still in pain. Today I went to my first physical therapy appointment and he gave me a glimmer of hope that this would heal soon. Upon initial assessment my left leg was weaker and my gait was off, but after some focused stretching exercises both improved which signified this was an issue that should get better in a few weeks rather than a severe muscular issue.
It would also appear that most of my issue appear to stem from my lower back. I have had lower back issues for the past 20 years which has caused my right hip to be off at times and it seems this is one of those times. I have my physical therapy homework and I see him again on Wednesday. He asked my to give him at least three weeks and if I am not almost completely better by then I will go back to the orthopedist and request an MRI. I am hoping the latter will happen, but only time will tell. There is a glimmer of hope!!
Have a great weekend all!!!
Have you ever battled an injury that took months to heal? How did you deal with it??
