Yesterday I turned 38! Where does the time go???? Wasn’t I just 15??? It’s crazy how fast time goes as you get older. I would like to just slow it down a little bit. This year is going to be all about starting over. I want to focus on getting back into peak running shape. I would also like to run at least one half-marathon and possibly one marathon. I am feeling good and pretty certain I will be back up and running by February, but with over a three month break from running due to a nasty injury I will be taking it slow.
Now onto all my birthday weekend fun!! I was super excited to have my daughter Angelica here for the week, best birthday present ever!! Her gift to me was a night out while she watched Abigail. On Saturday we headed out with another couple to a local restaurant in Ybor City called Bernini to celebrate Magda and my birthdays!
This restaurant is great! Not only do you get $2 Finlandia Martinis, you also get 50% off pasta and entrees, both are until 7pm daily. Not only is the deal great, so is the food. For about $50 per couple we had many martinis and an entree a piece. You definitely cannot beat that deal.
After dinner we headed to a local bar, City Grill. We hung out here for few hours drinking beer and playing a huge Jenga!!!
Sunday we hung out by the gazebo and firepit at our apartment complex with the same family. We watched football, barbequed, blew up the firepit…….
My husband lit the firept with the key and maybe 12 seconds later it literally blew up. Thankfully, no one was near it, especially the kids. Now normal people may have turned it off , but we just lowered the heat and enjoyed it from a distance.
Monday my family and I headed to Magic Kingdom for the day so Angelica could enjoy the end of her vacation with us. First ride was the Mine Train:
It was the start of a really fun day!!! We hit pretty much every ride we wanted to in the park. My husband even went on Space Mountain which is pretty amazing since he avoids all scary roller coasters. We hit every ride we wanted to in Magic Kingdom and Abby even got to see the castle frozen for the first time!
Tuesday, which was my actually birthday and Angelica’s last day in Florida, we headed to Busch Gardens. Chris dropped us off and stayed briefly just to see the gator show.
After Chris left we took the Skyride and headed directly to Sheikra. This was hands down the best ride of the day and thanks to the short lines we got to ride it over ten times. The front row was definitely the best, don’t let the signs at Busch Gardens fool you that every seat gets the same view, not true!
Lunch was a combo of all my favorite things-beer (Shocktop twisted pretzel beer), pretzels and beer cheese!!! Perfect birthday lunch:
We had a great day and hit every roller coaster that was open. We were even lucky enough to hit Cheetah Hunt at the end of the day because it was closed earlier!!!! I will leave you with our Cheetah Hunt picture, definitely the best of the day and a great way to end my birthday!
