February 1st, a Monday, I started running again after a three month hiatus due to an injury. I enlisted in a coach, Jess from Race Pace Jess, a PT and eventually a chiropractor was added to the mix. I am happy to report that with the help of all these people I am feeling great and slowly increasing my running. So what does one do when they can run again? They sign up for a race of course!
I actually ran with a couple of my running friends, one of which ran Key West this year, and we talked about how this would make an awesome girl’s weekend trip.
I signed up that day and the rest quickly followed. We even have a hotel booked already thanks to Dawn (not pictured)!! Key West has been rated one of the top 10 half marathons in the world by Runner’s World, Competitor Magazine and in the book the The Best Half Marathons in the World.
It is also pretty awesome that it falls on my birthday weekend! I am truly looking forward to next January, it can’t come fast enough!!!
