As a NOW Foods Ambassador I get to try many different products each month which is pretty awesome. I love NOW Foods and I love that they focus on creating products that are natural. It can get scary when you research what is actually in your supplements (that is a whole other post) and the fact is that when it comes to choosing better products we tend to focus on our food, but our supplements require just as much scrutiny.
NOW Supplements are ones I can trust and you can read about why on their site. I have been utilizing a few of their supplements to fuel and recover from my workouts for the past few months. I did take a break in May while my toes was healing, but now that I am back up and running I am using them again.
Which ones am I currently using??
- Sports Energy Extreme: According to NOW this supplement is “formulated to supply the nutrients you need to promote sustained energy production and mental alertness” and that is exactly what it does! I only take this supplement on the days I am going to be working our hard and I will tell you I definitely see a difference in my performance when I do.
- Electro Endurance: According to NOW’s website: “NOW® Electro Endurance™ contains all of the elements necessary for post-exercise recovery. Electro Endurance™ combines a special mix of simple and complex carbohydrates, protein, and electrolytes to promote rapid recovery from hard exercise”. I personally use this product during and after exercise. I mix it with water and it’s tastes okay, but works great.
- ZMA: “ZMA® is a combination of Zinc, Magnesium and Vitamin B-6 designed to maximize absorption and to promote recovery from exercise” (Source). I take this supplement every night and I feel it definitely helps with recovery. I have less soreness and feel better overall.
- Calcium & Magnesium: I take calcium and magnesium to support bone health. I have suffered from multiple stress fractures in my life and most recently a broken toe, so I figure any help in the bone department is a good thing. Does it actually work? I hope so, but there is nothing I can actually feel in my body to tell you it does, I guess only time will tell.
