Disclosure: Shoebuy sponsored this post. I received sneakers and capris at no charge, all opinions are 100% my own.
I discovered shoebuy last year when I went to a yoga event sponsored buy them in NYC. Now obviously as a runner I am a fan of shoes, mostly running shoes. If you open my garage or closet you will find tons of running shoes, more than I actually know what to do with, but you can’t have too many running shoes, right?
Now that I am training for the NYC marathon in November I am in definite need of more running shoes because as my mileage increases I need to rotate my marathon sneakers and I need to make sure they are not too worn out for when I actually get to the marathon. Coincidentally, shoebuy opened “The Run Shop” the same week I began training.
This couldn’t come at a better time because I was still deciding what sneaker my “marathon” sneaker would be for NYC. I have been having some trouble with my current ASICS (the Gel-Kayano) so it was exciting to be able to try something new and different. As a runner I have used all different brands of running shoes over the years from ASICS to Mizuno to Nike to Saucony. My first running shoes were ASICS and my most current are ASICS, but I have used many others in between.
My dilemma recently has been my shoes just don’t fit right. My size seems to have increased to a 9 1/4, which is obviously not a size so I am back and forth between a 9 and a 9.5. Shoebuy was nice enough to send me a pair of Brooks Adrenaline in a 9.5 to try out to see if they could be a contender for my marathon shoe. The also sent me awesome Salmon Elevate 3/4 tights!!!
I have run in the Brooks Adrenaline for a few weeks and at this point I am just about decided on the shoe I am wearing for the marathon. I had narrowed the choices on my shoes for the marathon down to three choices, which were the Asics Metarun, Asics GT-2000, and the Brooks Adrenaline. Both Asics shoes I wear a 9 and the Brooks I went with a 9.5 because a 9 was too small. The Brooks are comfy and look amazing, but they just don’t fit right. The Metarun are absolutely amazing, but they are a limited edition and at $250 a pair, they are just not a reasonable choice. Last, but not least are the Asics GT-2000. These are my marathon shoes. The fit perfectly and I wore them on my long run this week and loved them!!!
The best part about shoebuy’s “The Run Shop” is that I can get my GT-2000 at a reasonable price. Plus, they offer free shipping and free exchanges!!!! I hate actually traveling to a store to buy shoes and shoebuy makes it so easy I don’t have to!!!!
