Bright and early this Monday morning I was up and at bootcamp! Everyone should begin their week with an intense and invigorating workout like bootcamp. It not only gets you physically moving it also mentally prepares you for any challenges you may face in the upcoming week. There is nothing like pushing your body beyond what you think is possible to relieve stress and make everything else in life seem a little more bearable.
One week from today I start my half-marathon training. I will be posting my training plan sometime this week for anyone that may want to follow along with me or just have it for future reference. It includes 4-5 days of running per week with 2-3 days of cross training or rest. I have created what I think is a solid program to help me obtain my goal of a sub-2 hour half marathon, using Runner’s World and Women’s Running Magazine as references.
As far as my diet is concerned I have pinpointed two thing I would like to include this week:
- At least 2 servings of fruit per day
- At least 8 glasses of water per day
I have been slacking in the fruit department and including at least 2 whole fruits in my diet per day is an achievable goal. I have also been slacking in the hydration department which I think is contributing to my ravenous hunger issue. Thirst and dehydration can sneakily be disguised as hunger, therefore I will be including at least 8 glasses of water per day. I will update you on my progress at the end of the week.
What will you be working on this week in regards to health and fitness?
