Yesterday my husband Chris gave me a big incentive to run the Long Island Half-Marathon in under 2 hours-$1000 toward the computer of my choice. I have been looking into getting a new computer for the last few months and have been debating between a PC and a Mac. I have researched both computers, asked advice from friends and other bloggers and I have decided on a MacBook Pro.
The biggest disadvantage to a MacBook Pro is the price tag but I have found that I could get a fairly new one on eBay if I spend between $1000-$1200, thus the incentive. Now I have to meet my goal, not only for myself but also so I can get my MacBook Pro!!
After today’s 4 mile run I know I am well on my way:
- Mile 1: 9:01
- Mile 2: 8:59 (negative split)
- Mile 3: 8:47 (negative split)
- Mile 4: 8:34 (negative split)
I did not eat prior to this run but I refueled with sweet potato pancakes courtesy of Caitlin at Healthy Tipping Point. I used pumpkin pie spice instead of cinnamon and walnuts instead of pecans. For the fruit topping I microwaved 1/2 cup raspberries and tsp. pure maple for a minute creating a beautiful and delicious sauce.
