First I’d like to wish my wonderful husband a Happy Father’s Day! Chris is a great father to our 2 beautiful girls Abby and Angelica, I couldn’t ask for more. They are blessed to have him in their life and so am I.

I’d also like to wish my father-in-law a Happy Father’s Day and thank him for raising such a great son. Children learn by example Chris had a great example to follow.

Father’s Day is a day to celebrate Father’s! We take this day to celebrate the wonderful men who have touched our lives in a way no one else can, we also take this day to remember the father’s that have passed away and are no longer with us. This is my second Father’s Day without my grandfather, he is the man who raised me from a baby and always supported me in every aspect of my life. Pop was always there for me no matter what the situation, he gave me everything I needed while growing up and proceeded to do the same for my first daughter Angelica.

His death was devastating to my whole family, Angelica who was 11 took it particularly hard and I’d like to say time makes it easier but then there are days like today that the pain is so fresh it feels like he just died this morning. I miss him so much and I mourn the fact that he will miss Angelica and Abby growing up, but in my heart I know he is watching over them and he always will.

Me and Pop at Nunley’s

Nunley’s was a mini amusement park on Long Island in Baldwin. It had a carousel which can still be found on Museum Row in Garden City. Growing up Nunley’s was a special place my grandfather took me on the weekends, with rides, games and mini golf nothing could be more fun!!! Sadly Nunleys shut down in 1995 before my kids could get to enjoy it, but I will always have fond memories.

This photo is the way I like to remember Pop. He walked from our house to work everyday and when I was young I used to walk down the block at 5 o’ clock everyday just so I could meet him and walk with him the rest of the way home. I miss those days when I was young and the highlight of the day was meeting my Pop on his way home from work.

Me and Pop at my wedding

My wedding day was one of the most memorable days of my life when I got to marry my soulmate. My grandfather gave me away that day knowing that I would be taken care of for the rest my life with Chris. I danced the father-daughter dance with him to the song Through The Years by Kenny Rogers, a perfect song that signified how he was there for me my whole life until the day he died. I wish I could go back and relive this day, unfortunately I can’t, but I still have all the beautiful memories that will stay alive with me for as long as I live.

Sometimes I find it cruel that you love someone your whole life and then they are gone, but in my heart I know that my life is better because my Pop was in it, I wouldn’t change that for the world. I love and miss you Pop!!! Happy Father’s Day in Heaven.

I have also recently reconnected with my biological father after not seeing him for 30 years, this is a story for another day, but I would like to wish him a Happy Father’s Day too!!!

For all the other father’s out there I hope you have a fantastic Father’s Day!!!

Oh, I’m going to cry! This is my second father’s day without my grandfather too, and he was a major part of my life. My mom was a single mom, so my grandparents helped raise me. I miss them both so much. Your wedding picture of the two of you is beautiful!

On a cheerier note, I’m your 100th follower! I’m visiting from the Not So Moody Monday hop.
