This week I ran a total of 7 miles, 3 of which I was pushing the jogging stroller. A light week considering I am starting my 1/2 marathon training on Monday, but I am confident with all the other working out I have been doing (rollerblading, Supreme 90 Day, CrossFit) I will be just fine. Here is my recap for the week.
- Wednesday: 2 miles easy with Chris (20 minutes)
- Thursday: 2 miles easy with Chris (20 minutes) +6.5 miles rollerblading with the jogging stroller
- Friday: 3 miles running with the jogging stroller + .81 walking
I wore my Garmin for Wednesday’s run and Friday’s run, Thursday I went sans Garmin, sometimes you just have to run…no pace or time…just run.
I ran with Chris…very slow on Wednesday:
Friday I did pretty good with time considering I was pushing the jogging stroller in 85 degree weather:
Not a bad week overall, just light on the running side of things. I just got back my orthotics from being fixed and I am still trying to break them in, unfortunately I am still developing blisters in the same spots that was supposed to be adjusted. 🙁 I do have another recheck scheduled for Tuesday and for the amount of money I paid for these orthotics they better give me good support without causing blisters.
I am actually considering getting some Vibram Five Fingers, running barefoot is supposed to be the way to go to help prevent injury….we will see. I have enough trouble running with sneakers, but maybe they are my problem!
I start my Half-Marathon training on Monday and I am ready to set a new PR in October.
Have you tried “barefoot” running? Do you like it? Hate it?
