Happy Almost Friday!!!!
I am so excited for the week to be over, especially since I start working my regular hours next week!!! Four 10-hour shifts, which means three full days off and more time for school, blogging and running……..oh, and my family too!!!
I am excited to end the week with this awesome guest post by Judy Kuan, a Wello personal trainer. Wello also has generously offered two Running, Loving, Living readers a FREE 30 day membership. Actually, if you go on their site they offer a free month to try them out, so this would give you two months for free. I am really looking forward to trying out this service!!!!!
Wello allows you to work out with a personal trainer right in the comfort of your home by using your computer and a webcam. It is more cost efficient that hiring a trainer to come to your home and you never have to leave the house to get a personalized workout. To learn more about Wello check out their website here.
As the Holidays are quickly approaching, life can get hectic and stressful. It can be hard to take care of your body as you put in extra work hours, plan for vacations and family get-togethers, and find the time to decorate while juggling other daily tasks. Certified Personal Trainer at Wello, Judy Kuan has put together 3 tips to avoid the holiday bulge:
- Build up your workout piggybank: If people are asking what holiday presents you would like, default to workout certificates or fun new workout gear. If you’re loyal to a specific training platform, don’t be shy about asking friends and family to help support your fitness goals by directing their gifts in that direction. Especially if you’re feeling like your wallet is “lighter” after the spendy holiday season, having credits and certificates stockpiled will keep you going, as will a great new workout outfit!
- Invest in an at-home / on the road workout plan: It’s getting colder by the day, and you don’t feel like leaving your cozy living room to trek to the gym. That’s no longer an excuse for not working out, given all the online training platforms, apps, and videos that are accessible over your iPad or laptop. Connect with an online resource who can help you optimize your space for at-home training – either as your go-to training approach or as a back-up plan for those inevitable snow days.
- Start your “New Year” now: Why wait until Jan. 1 to commit to major life improvements? Focus on continuing to make healthy progress during the holiday season, and even if you fall short of your goals, you will still be better off than if you set a goal – and fall short of – “maintaining” your health & fitness status. Bonus: You’ll have bragging rights to becoming *more* fit during the holiday season, rather than backsliding on your hard-won progress.

I learned you don’t need any special equipment to do the Wello work outs.
Hey I had to change the entry form for the giveaway and I extended it until next week, so you may want to pop back over to the post to enter again. Sorry.
My online client love being able to work out on their own schedules. They’re usually fairly experienced with strength training, which I highly recommend if you’re going to use virtual training. Thanks for the tips!

Great tips and yes you should have a back up plan! I am the former reigning queen of excuses so having multiple options reduces the likelihood that I will just be lazy. No time like the present to get started!

Wello sounds so cool! You can workout anywhere over the internet. I liked that no more than 5 people will be in any time slot. Sounds like a great program that is customizable both in your fitness level and time availability.

Sounds like a great program! I would love to try this out to have the flexibility to work out in my home during the chilly months.
I like these tips – especially building up the exercise piggyback! We’re going to vacation somewhere that gym options might be limited, so right now I’m making a lot of donations in the form of strength training and spin classes. 🙂

There are VERY few places I can work out with a toddler (surprisingly little child care offerings.) Need to find something good for home use!
I need to lose baby weight.
This would encourage me to workout and get back into regular workouts
I would love to try this as I could do it anytime (like 4:30am) in my basement while my family sleeps before I go to work!
Because my gym is a nightmare Jan/Feb/Mar…would rather work out at home during this time
you can do it all at home!

Because I will be at home and comfortable not in a huge class or at a full gym.
I would love to win to get rid of the baby weight!

I’d like to win it because I’d like to learn Yoga but there are no studios near me.
I would like to try out their yoga. I have terrible back pain and have been told yoga can help loosen out my muscles.
I’m a busy working mom of a 2 year old and 3 month old. I’m returning to work full-time after the 1st of the year and don’t have time for workouts. I could use this at home but still do things I love such as yoga or pilates.
I would love this because it is hard to find a time to go to the gym when it is not packed!
You can do 30 and 60 minute workouts!
