Yesterday I was able to officially claim my guaranteed entry into the 2014 TCS New York City Marathon. I can barely contain how excited I am to be running this marathon, my first!!!! Since I began running at 19, I have always known I would run the NYC Marathon and 2014 will be the year.
2012 was supposed to be my year for the marathon. I gained entry through the lottery, only to defer that September due to injury. Little did I know that 2012 would not have been my year no matter what because of Hurricane Sandy. After battling the flu and pneumonia in the beginning of 2013, I decided to defer my marathon entry until 2014, just to be safe.
In July of 2012 I had the opportunity to try out MyRaceRagz for the first time and I absolutely loved the shirt I received!!! I created a custom shirt especially for the 2012 NYC Marathon. I ran many training runs in the shirt, but as you know, I did not get to run the marathon in it.
I was so excited to be contacted by MyRaceRagz to design another shirt and host a giveaway for one lucky reader of Running, Loving, Living!!!! I needed a new marathon shirt to motivate me through my training for NYC and to wear when I run it!!!!!
Can a simple tech shirt motivate a person to run a marathon??
Absolutely. I take one look at the shirt I created and I am motivated to run. I am motivated to train for my first marathon. I am motivated by the simple fact that this WILL be the shirt I wear on that day. Plus, it looks great!!!!
I absolutely love the way my shirt came out!!! The process to design your own shirt is super easy, even if you are not the most tech savvy person. You can add your own designs or choose from the hundreds of designs/slogans on their site!!! The sort itself is dry fit, light and incredibly comfortable! I love running in tanks, but you have the option of choosing any type of shirt you like-long sleeve, short sleeve, tanks.
You can check out all the awesome selections at MyRaceRagz. You can also find them on Facebook and Twitter.
Now, I know that you want to customize one of these shirts for yourself. Lucky for you MyRaceRagz has generously offered to give one lucky reader of Running, Loving, Living one of these awesome shirts. You can until next Monday to enter the giveaway below!!! I know you want this all to yourself, but be sure to share it with all your runner friends!!!

How exciting for you and something to look forward to. The shirt looks great!

I want a 26.2 shirt to wear as I begin training for my first full, which I will be running in 2014. Either the “Pretty Tough” or “I can do 26.2”

My favorite distance is 13.1, so I would have to pick one of the half-marathon designs, I think.
