I HATE the COLD!!!! Apparently it has been colder here than it has been in Alaska, at least that is what the news said today. I can deal with forty, appreciate fifty, but want sixty degrees at all times. This weather makes me long for Summer.
I am actually allergic to the cold, I break out in hives…….literally. Also with asthma, it is difficult to breathe in the cold.
This has been the coldest (sub-zero degree) weather I have experienced since I was a child and I am not liking it at all. I cannot run outside safely because of the ice and snow, and honestly, under thirty degrees makes it really difficult for me to breathe. The “dreadmill” has been a necessary evil this winter, unfortunately.
I actually, once again, postponed my long run today due to the cold. I just couldn’t bare 8 miles on the treadmill today. However, I will have to tomorrow.
I did manage to have a little fun in the snow yesterday!!! Abigail wanted to go sledding and even though I didn’t want to I did!!! It turned out to be fun for about 15 minutes, then the cold go to me, another 15 minutes passed and then we went home.
We had a small snowball fight and then got warm in the house.
It was fun for a few and I even got to use my new Kodak waterproof sport camera!!!! It worked great and I didn’t have to worry about ruining it! I can’t wait to use it underwater and on my runs!!!
Is it cold by you? How do you handle it??

I am so excited to have found you! I am a Long Island Mom that runs as well. I just started my own blog. I am running my first half marathon in May with Team In Training. It is actually the Long Island Half Marathon and I am so excited. Not sure where you live but maybe once it gets warmer we can do a race or 2 together. I don’t have a treadmill or a gym membership so I have been running in the snow and in the 12 degrees, it actually has been fun.
Hi Lisa!!! Good luck with the LI Half, I will probably be there. Email me, we should definitely get together for a run!!! God bless you, I could not run in this weather, I am confined to my gym and the treadmill.
It is SO COLD here! I am actually really glad I’m not signed up for any spring races, I’ve just been focusing on cross-training this winter (spinning classes and lifting) instead of doing much running.

Cold here too, I wish I wasn’t signed up for any races as I am spending most of my time on the “dreadmill”
