Disclosure: As a Women’s Health Action Hero I received my race entry for free. I also receive incentives for fundraising and recruitment.

I woke up at 4am Sunday morning to the sound of torrential rain. If you know me, then you know I am not a fan of running in the rain, but I had my friends waiting for me and my fellow action heroes in the city, so I knew even if it was pouring out I would still be running. I was actually more concerned about what I would do with my new iPhone 6 during the run more than anything else.
I picked up Roger and we drove to Crystal’s apartment and jumped in her car at 5:15 am. I needed to be at the race by 6am for some photos for a Got Chocolate Milk campaign I was doing with a couple of other Action Heroes. Crystal didn’t let me down and got me to the race exactly at 6am.
I met up with Christine from Women’s Health and two other Action Heroes, Laura and Kelly, for our Got Chocolate Milk photo shoot! We took a few pictures before the race and then headed to the start to run!
The run was supposed to start at 7am, but we didn’t take until about a quarter after. While it was cloudy for most of the run, it never rained, although with the humidity I wish it had. I am still having this nagging side stitch on the left and it was there for the whole first half of the run. I really didn’t have a time goal, but I was hoping to come in under and hour, which I did!!
Overall I was proud of my time, especially considering my aching side and the heat. Women’s Health even caught an awesome photo of me finishing the race!
After the race I headed to the VIP tent for some post race fuel and then I met back up with Laura and Kelly for a few more photos for the Got Chocolate Milk campaign, I can’t wait to share them with you!

This was a great run. Other than the late start, it was well organized! I would definitely participate again!
A big thanks to Women’s Health for selecting me to be an Action Hero for the Run 10 Feed 10 movement and for hosting such an amazing race in Manhattan.
Have you participated in a Run 10 Feed 10 run?
