I do not write much about food on this blog, although I plan to change that this year as I venture into a healthier way of eating for me and my family. If you follow me on Instagram or Yelp you know that in addition to running I love food. I love to go out and have a great meal with drinks so when Noodles and Company contacted me to have a VIP tasting with up to 10 of my readers of their new healthy menu, how could I say no? This year Noodles & Company want to show their healthier side and are inviting guests to travel the globe for 500 calories or less with meals that that are both delicious and figure friendly. At Noodles & Company you have the ability to customize your meal so that it’s tailored to individual needs, tastes and dietary concerns. You meal can be from low-carb, vegetarian, low-fat or even gluten-free, the choice is yours!!!
As an example, here are a few dishes that, with some smart swaps, make for a satisfying meal that includes all of the goodness without the guilt:
· Thai Hot Pot – featuring a signature curry broth, cabbage, sprouts, peppers, shiitake mushrooms, rice noodles, pulled chicken and pork, lime wedge and cilantro, you can swap the rice noodles with double veggies for a low-carb, high protein option.
· The Med Salad – Grilled chicken, romaine lettuce, mixed greens, tomato cucumber, red onion, olives, cavatappi pasta and feta tossed in a spicy yogurt dressing. If you’re looking to cut carbs, you can substitute chicken for the pasta for a flavorful salad with double the protein.
