I hope everyone has had a fantastic weekend! I had the opportunity to meet Steve Schirripa from the Sopranos at Whole Foods where he was promoting his delicious & organic jarred sauce. I also celebrated my friend Steve’s 40th Birthday. I cannot believe I am old enough to be celebrating 40th birthdays……time stops for no one.
My husband and I discovered Steve Schirripa’s pasta sauce, Uncle Steve’s, a few months ago at a tasting at Whole Foods. This sauce is not only one of the best jarred sauces I have ever had, it is also organic. We found out that Steve was going to be at our local Whole Foods and just had to make a trip to see him.
We got to Whole Foods just as the event was starting so we were lucky enough not to have to wait. We saw Steve, got a couple of signed wooden spoons and picked up a few jars at half price. It was a win-win-win situation.
That same night my husband and I attended a surprise 40th birthday party for our friend Steve. Steve’s party was a blast! It was fun to hang with friends that I don’t get to see very often.
Now that I have shared the fun parts of my weekend with you I will share an update about my shoulder injury which is not so much fun. I went to the orthopedist on Thursday and I have a couple of small tears in my rotator cuff. He doesn’t feel at this point it warrants surgery. He gave me a cortisone shot and wants me to try Physical Therapy for a month first. In addition I have to stop all activities, other than the PT, that irritate the shoulder. This unfortunately includes running. I guess my decision last week not to run the LI Marathon was a smart one.
My plans for the next month are to rehab my shoulder. I plan to do whatever is necessary to heal my shoulder. I also plan to get a second opinion on my options if this rehab doesn’t work. If anyone has had a shoulder injury and has any advice I would love to hear about it.
How was your weekend?
