I officially feel like my old self!!! The last few months have been rough between adjusting to Florida life and recovering from an injury that prevented me from running. I was not myself at all. I was less happy and pretty much just let myself go, all because I couldn’t run. It was a tough stretch that I can now officially put behind me, because I feel fantastic!!!
My energy levels are through the roof! I am loving morning running again. Starting my day with a run is always the best way to start it, especially when you add a friend or two.
Coming back from an injury is rough and it took the whole month of February before I felt like normal again. I am thankful that my body has healed and I was able to make a full recovery. The feeling of excitement when it all comes together is amazing. I am super thankful to my running coach, Jess, and my chiropractor, Dr. Will, both of whom were instrumental in my “comeback”. They say it takes three weeks to form a habit and it took a month for me, but now that I am up and running again I crave it, every single day.
Running makes me happy. Working out makes me happy. When it all comes together, working out and running, I am happy. When it all comes together there is a satisfaction that is unexplainable. All I can say is that I am back and I feel amazing. So amazing that I signed up for my first half-marathon since 2014, the Echo Half in Osteen, Florida on June 5th!!!
I am fortunate enough to have made some amazing running friends who plan to join me in this half!!! I cannot wait!!! I am super happy to be back up and running and looking forward to a half-marathon. This is actually the last half-marathon in the Florida running season which does not pick up again until October. I am looking forward to the chance to just race and have fun!!!!
What race are you looking forward to this year?
