When I couldn’t run the NYC Marathon last year with Team ASICS due to an injury I knew that I had to run this year no matter what. Last year we were supposed to be FIVE TO THE FINISH and only four made it, so I need redemption, despite the fact I am once again going to train through the summer in the Florida heat.
I am once again working with Jess from Race Pace Jess as my running coach. She has been amazing over the last couple years and I am hoping I can keep from getting injured to actually complete a race with her.
This training cycle I am going to be smart. I am going to follow a well rounded plan that includes running, cross training, strength training, stretching and core training. I am going to listen to my body to avoid any overtraining or overuse injuries. I am going to eat a healthy, nutritious diet. I am going to make regular visits to my chiropractor for maintenance. And most importantly I am not going to do anything that can result in injury. I may even invest in some bubble wrap…….
