Disclosure: As a NOW Foods Influencer NOW Foods invited me to Chicago to visit their headquarters. All expenses were paid by NOW Foods. As always all opinions are my own.
I have been working with NOW Foods as an influencer since January. I discovered this company during a Mamavation campaign last summer. What I love about this company is reflected in their mission: “to provide value in products and services that empower people to lead healthier lives”. This is a family owned company started by Elwood Richard in the 1960’s when “health foods” were considered something only hippies used. Elwood started this company to offer the public affordable natural products and healthy foods. Today NOW is still owned by the Richard family and has grown to one of the most recognizable brands in the industry and still remains true to Elwood’s original vision: “To meet consumer need for health foods by offering affordable, high quality natural products”.
Accepting an invite to visit their headquarters was one of the easiest decisions I had to make this year, even if it meant flying twice in two days. I was originally booked on a flight that took me from Tampa to Miami to Chicago, thankfully they were able to switch my to a non-stop flight because I was freaking out just a little. I do not love to fly, but I do it because I won’t let fear stop me from doing things. Thankfully my flight was uneventful and I arrived in Chicago around 10:30 am CST. The other bloggers wouldn’t have as much luck with their flights, weather delayed many and made for rocky flights.
When I arrived at the hotel Alana, the senior public relations specialist, greeted my with her team and a spread of NOW Foods snacks. (Alana is on the right)
I talked with them for awhile before grabbing a bunch of snacks and heading up to my room where I was greeted with some amazing swag!

I had originally planned to head outside for a run, but Mother Nature had another idea. With thunderstorms and lightening occurring and predicted for the entire afternoon I decided to head to the gym
After roaming the hotel I found the hotel gym in the basement. I was happy to find I had the gym all to myself, that is until mid run some teenagers decided to “play” there. It took all my patience not to scream at these kids that were turning the treadmill up to the highest speed and trying to run on it. I figured they would get bored after ten minutes and I was right. I was able to peacefully finish my run.
When it’s storming in Chicago and you still have to get your run in you hit the gym. Not a fan of the treadmill but it worked! Intervals aren’t as bad in the treadmill except when you get a bunch of foreign teenagers causing a bunch of commotion by running as fast as the can to be stupid. Took all my energy not to scream at them, but I just focused on my workout and after 10 minutes they left! #racepacerunner #teamasics #teamasicsnycm #running #runchat #fitfluential #sweatpink #fitapproach #ffcheckin #run #tattooedrunner #tattoedrunnerchic #werunsocial #runners #training #tcsnycmarathon #marathontraining #nycmarathon #tempo #garmin #garminrunning #nowwellness #nowinfluencer #nowambassador #hiltonhhonors

After running I had some downtime prior to dinner so I ended connecting with Ashley from Coffee Cake & Cardio.
Dinner took place in a private room in the back of the restaurant and consisted of delicious food and wine. We also got to hear from the CEO of NOW, Jim Emme. I didn’t think I could possibly like this company more, but after hearing Jim speak, I did. This is a privately held, family owned company and they plan to stay that way. NOW received multiple offers to sell and they won’t because they want to be in control of their products. According to Jim, NOW does not believe in cutting corners, but does believe that value means trusting a product and knowing what you are getting. With NOW you know what you are getting.
After dinner we headed back to the hotel. Most of the bloggers went to bed, but a few of us hit the bar for one last drink. It was a weird bar in the basement down this long strange hallway, but it served alcohol so we were in!!!!
The night ended around 11 and as soon as I got back to the room I hit the sack!!!!!
Stay tuned for Day 2, coming Monday!!!
Have you ever tried NOW products?
