Today officially begins Key West Half Marathon Training. I will be following an eight week program that I created with the intent of training my friend Arleen to a 2:15 finish and a new half marathon PR. Not only will I be training her for the next eight weeks, but I will also be pacing her during the race. I am excited to start gaining back my lost speed and to help a friend reach a goal.
I am hoping to get through this training cycle without injury. I have created a well rounded plan that includes running, cross-training, strength, yoga and core. I have yoga scheduled 3x a week, but I am actually going to try to make it a daily practice.
I still owe you all my NYC Marathon recaps and I promise they are coming this week. It has been hard to put that amazing weekend into words.
