I am happy to report that week two of training went really well. I didn’t run a lot, but I was able to run pain free and that is a big win for me. I have no goals for Echo except to finish, so this training cycle is basically all about me building up my mileage and staying injury free.
- Monday 4/17/17: Kickboxing; 2 mile run.
- Tuesday 4/18/17: 2.5 mile run; Body Back; Emily Skye F.I.T. Workout.
- Wednesday 4/19/17: Gym Workout-stepmill for 20 minutes, cable work and core work.
- Thursday 4/20/17: 2 mile run; Body Back.
- Friday 4/20/17: Kickboxing.
- Saturday 4/21/17: Tampa International Airport 5K, 26:38.
I always have two goals for every 5K-finish in under 30 minutes & if my husband is running, beat him. I actually wasn’t going for either of those goals for this race because it was my first coming back from an injury. I ended up meeting both those goals, plus I ran comfortably in a sports bra and shorts……which has been a goal of mine for awhile! The official results say I finished in 27:03, but my @garmin tells a different story……either way I felt great!! It gave me the confidence to know I can actually still run and fast too!!! ………………………………………………………….. #tpa5k #echohalftraining #training #runner #runners #running #runchat #fitfluential #ffcheckin #garminfitness #womensrunning #tatooedrunner #werunsocial
- Sunday 4/22/17: Emily Skye F.I.T. Upper and lower body workouts.
- Miles: 9.6
- Total Echo Training Miles: 15.96 miles
I also hit at least 10,000 steps every single day. I am definitely addicted to working out and the results I am seeing. All the cross training has been great for my running and I know it will help keep me injury free.
The Hipster has been my go to running belt since I received it. Not only does it stay put and hold everything I need from my phone to my keys, it also matches my Garmin.
The Speedshot plus handheld flask is pretty awesome too. I personally am not a fan of holding anything in my hands while running. With that being said, I actually did not mind holding the Speedshot because it is grip-free. I basically slide my hand under the band and go!! Great for short runs.
I have not tried the Switchblade Belt yet, but I plan to on my next long run! I have hogh hopes for it!
