[Tweet "Another week in the books! Check out Toni's NYC Marathon Week 7 recap"] Another week in the books. This week started off on a pretty bad note. I have a chronic back issue that I have dealt with for over 20 years. I regularly, and I mean regularly when I have pain, see a chiropractor. I should be more proactive but when I feel good life just gets in the way of my chiropractic visits. This week I need my chiropractor and I saw him Monday through Wednesday. I ...

2016 NYC Marathon Training Recap Week 6
Marathon training is rough. It is mentally difficult and physically exhausting, but despite these factors it is so rewarding. Some weeks are great and some weeks suck. This week started out great and ended sucky. I am not positive that my body is cut out for marathon training and I am not totally sure I will do it again after this time. I am sure that I am going to make to NYC this year no matter what!!!!!! Monday 8/1/16: Yoga. Tuesday 8/2/16: ...
Training For The NYC Marathon With Shoebuy
Disclosure: Shoebuy sponsored this post. I received sneakers and capris at no charge, all opinions are 100% my own. I discovered shoebuy last year when I went to a yoga event sponsored buy them in NYC. Now obviously as a runner I am a fan of shoes, mostly running shoes. If you open my garage or closet you will find tons of running shoes, more than I actually know what to do with, but you can’t have too many running shoes, right? Now that I am training for the NYC ...
2016 NYC Marathon Training Recap Week 5
So I was supposed to write this recap last night, but I actually fell asleep doing yoga. I mean fell asleep at the end of yoga, in child’s pose. I literally woke up face down with drool all over the mat, yes I drool. This was around 8:30 and I planned to get up, but I couldn’t, so I just crawled into bed and went to sleep. Training is going well and I only missed one run last week due to my travels to Chicago. I had the amazing opportunity to visit the NOW Foods ...
2016 NYC Marathon Training Recap Week 4
This was a good week, but boy was it hot. Ideally I would get up every day at 5 am and run, unfortunately I cannot always do this due to work and honestly even at 5 am it is still pretty humid. I pretty much felt tortured in the heat this week and finished every run with the thought, “Well I didn’t die”. My only consolation is that the heat will make me a better runner in the cooler weather! I am also excited to announce that I was selected to be a Fit Foodie Ambassador for ...
2016 NYC Marathon Training Recap Week 3
This week I finally felt in my groove. I am finally feeling like my training is coming together and starting to pay off. I am happy for week 3 because after this week there is 16 weeks left until the marathon. I still have my good runs and bad runs, but overall each and every run has made me stronger. My biggest issue during this training has been my sneakers. I have narrowed it down to two pairs-ASICS Metarun and ASICS GT-2000. Since I cannot get another ...
2016 NYC Marathon Training Recap Week 2
[Tweet "Week 2 NYC Marathon Training is in the books, check it out"] Another week of training is in the books. This week I struggled with working long hours, 14 on some days. I tried not to let this get in the way of my training, but it did a little. I did manage to overcome training after work in the heat. Some days it is just impossible for me to get up early, train and then go to work. Running in the dark alone scares me. I am mostly afraid of critters ...
2016 NYC Marathon Training recap week 1
[Tweet "Check out Toni's 1st week of 2016 NYC Marathon Training:"] Week one of training was less than stellar, but that’s okay. I feel like this past week was just a week of catch up and recovery from my Long Island vacation. On the last day of vacation, the Sunday prior to the start of NYC Marathon training, I ran the Firecracker 5K my friend and husband. Great action shot courtesy of my father in law! #firecracker5k #racepacerunner #teamasics #runchat ...
And so it begins…….2016 NYC Marathon training
[Tweet "Are you training for a Fall marathon? @tonee78 is: "] When I couldn’t run the NYC Marathon last year with Team ASICS due to an injury I knew that I had to run this year no matter what. Last year we were supposed to be FIVE TO THE FINISH and only four made it, so I need redemption, despite the fact I am once again going to train through the summer in the Florida heat. I am once again working with Jess from Race Pace Jess as my running coach. She has been amazing over the ...
A Training Update plus the #FiveToTheFinishLine Webisode 5 #TeamASICSNYCM
So I have been quiet this week about my training and mostly it is because there is none happening right now. Sadly I injured my leg during my long run 3 weeks ago and have been unable to run since. While I am 95% better than I was when it happened I am still having some pain. Where does that leave me?? It leaves me unsure if I will be able to run or run/walk the marathon next week. I keep hoping I will wake up pain free and perfect, but each day that passes that I ...
#5ToTheFinishLine Webisode 4: Marathon Training Questions & Answers
Our Team ASICS fourth webisode is up and running. In this video we are answering questions received from both our fans and ASICS fans. I want to thank all the fans for sending in their questions and I wish we could have answered them all. There were so many awesome questions I am going to be doing a Periscope (@tonee78) next week to address some of the ones that weren’t answered in the video. I know you haven’t heard much from me this week and that is because I ...
Weekly Workout Wrap-Up, NYC Marathon Training, Week 11
I honestly cannot believe that there is only 5 weeks left until the NYC Marathon. This training cycle has felt like forever. I keep wondering when it is finally going to click and I will feel good instead of struggling through every single workout, but I have to accept that this may not happen until marathon day. What I do know is that my training has been as solid as it can be considering I made a huge move to Florida this past summer and just recently started a new job. ...
